Surgeon's instruments

The surgeon relied on various equipment. The instrument which protrudes over the near edge of the table has a regular scalpel edge along one side and a saw blade along the other side. During a battle, the demand on the surgeon was so great he had to be able to amputate a limb in a few minutes.
